Doing What You Have Always Done and Comfort Zones

"Doing What You Always Have Done and Comfort Zones

What is your comfort zone that is holding you back?

Are you doing what you have always done staying in your comfort zone? The ocean is my favorite comfort zone, I would rather be at the ocean than anywhere else. Do you find yourself always doing the same thing because it is your comfort zone? When you started your business, your comfort zone was hard to find. You had so many decisions to make; planning, scheduling, contacting, getting known and more. Yet because of absolute motivation, determination and hard work you got it done. Then all of a sudden you realize you are doing what you always have done again and your are in a comfort zone that is holding you back.

With the world around us changing so quickly and most of your target market is mobile, you can’t stay in your old comfort zone of marketing. You need to change it up, think like your market and be seen and heard where they are spending their time. The mobile market is the largest market today which includes your social media exposure. It will actually give you amazing access to your target market in more ways than ever before. But, does all this mobile access, social media stuff take you completely out of your comfort zone? Not to worry! A good marketing professional can tie it all together for you so you don’t even have to be concerned about the process. You can’t do it all. You can’t even keep up with it all. That’s when good delegation comes into place for your marketing tasks and success. Then you can concentrate on other comfort zones you need to break out of to keep the success of your business on track.

There are marketing systems that can be put in place to make sure that your message, containing the solutions you have for your market’s problems, will reach them right where they are looking for them each day. Then they will be raising their hand and coming to you because you are the expert and the only one that can provide what they need. When it is easy for your market to reach you, find you, and engage with you a massive growth change happens. A good business reputation and a good marketing plan goes a long way to bringing the target market you seek through your door.

So make a plan to stop doing what you always have done, get out of your comfort zone and be where your target market is waiting for you. How can we help you today? Please leave a comment or question. I would be happy to have a free strategy session with you!

Is Your Marketing Like the Weather?

"Is your marketing like the weather"

Is Your Marketing Like the Weather?

Is your marketing like the weather? This is a screen shot of the weather today in my location. Now stop and think about how every one checks the weather every day. They check the weather before they travel, and what the weather will be like at their destination. They check the weather to see what to wear, do they have to adjust their plans, will travel be delayed? Weather is critical to us in our lives, we all want to know what is the “WEATHER” going to be!

The meteorologists tell the weather over and over all day long every day. They have a huge audience that sometimes is happy with their message and sometimes not very happy with their message. The message matters all the same no matter what, and sometimes the weather trumps all the other news out there. The weather has it’s own channel, so you can know what the weather is at any given location at any time of day!

Imagine if your marketing message was as engaging to your audience as the weather, they constantly would want to know what you have to say that matters to them and their daily lives. It would have to be easily accessible anywhere and anytime. You would be telling the story over and over again, but they would still want to know what it is because it would give them a solution to questions and problems they face each day. They would engage with you and want those solutions. Your marketing message would be very popular and respected by them. They would find huge value in engaging with you. Even if they didn’t always like the message, they would trust you for the end result.

We have a solution for that! How can we help you today? Please leave your comments and share with a friend if you found value here.

Zoo Animals and Algorithms

Zoo animals and algorithms were not associated in the same sentences over two years ago.

Zoo animals and algorithms

Now there are totally different reasons we talk about Pandas and Penguins, and it isn’t usually because we saw them at the zoo. Pandas and Penguins now have everything to do with content and your web presence. If you have engaged in “black hat” marketing which would include the use of bad links, no original content and the lack of organic links, you might have found yourself slapped down by Google. Do you have a blog that you communicate great information to your target market? Do you have videos that share and engage your products and services as a great solution for their problem? Is your social media linked to your website along with your LinkedIn account? Are you socializing and interacting with your audience? So many questions and so little time.

Everything that you think you used to know about marketing and your web presence is in a state of constant change. Here you are busy trying to run your business and you wonder how am I supposed to keep up with all these changes? How do I keep from wasting money on marketing that is changing weekly and monthly? There are some basic rules that will help you. Everything you learned in Kindergarten now applies. Be nice to your neighbor, be considerate and tell the truth. Listen to you neighbor, you don’t have to talk all the time. The most important rules for your web presence is share your story and what it is that you do best that matters to your target audience. Share valuable information that will help your target market solve their problem, and that you care and have that solution. Be available and easily accessible to your market. The easier it is for them to contact you, interact with you and get your solution to their problem, the better!

So no matter what the next animal algorithm is, good manners, caring, sharing and killer service will win every time. I appreciate all of you, let me know how I can do better!

Your business concerns, your business problems are no different from any other business owner when it comes to marketing. There are tried and true marketing practices, some over 50 years old that still work to engage your target market. The problem you have is when you think “that won’t work for me, my business is different”.

One thing that was very obvious among the business owners that had continued success is that they were willing to take action and actively use tried and true practices to market to their audience. When I do have a strategic session with a potential client, I always look at the marketing they have been doing and what has worked and what isn’t working. Then we discuss the tools that are available to complete the marketing picture with their target market. Everyone is looking for that one new thing, that one new shortcut to bring instant results. The secret is to combine the tried and true systems of marketing that bring steady results. The Absolute Truth and Marketing

This week in several meetings with business owners I have heard comments like “I don’t think that really works”, “You can only do that if you do it this way” and more. It reminds me of a recent conversation with my teenage granddaughter where we were discussing some future trips I wanted to take her on with me. She replied negatively repeatedly with one thing after another to which I asked her what those opinions were based on. She replied “well someone told me this or that” I replied to her “have you ever been there before, are you making this judgement by your experience”?

It is amazing how we are influenced by the opinions of others, which are usually based on heresy, no experience or actual facts. Think of a time you discovered that something you had believed for awhile about anything you can imagine, then you actually experienced it for your self and were shocked to find out that what you originally thought was totally not true. There is a lot of white noise in our lives every day. There are a lot of opinions shared and discussed, but when it comes to your business the facts rule!

Here are some facts about marketing that I want to share:

A good optimized website is a valuable tool to reach and be found by your target market.

Social Media of all types can build your brand, create community and help you to provide great customer service.

Direct Mail is not dead and is still valuable.

Email marketing is not dead and still valuable.

Mobile apps are the future and are a part of your largest target market.

Video is also a game changer in your business.

Your best customers are your current customers.

The key to all of this is the what, why and how it is executed. You can talk your self out of marketing with endless excuses, but you are also talking yourself out of revenue that good marketing platforms provide.

No, I Am Not Inviting You To Turkey Day.

Everytime someone uses the term Turkey Day I cringe. Our founding father’s didn’t have a Turkey Day, they had a day of Thanksgiving. It probably didn’t even involve a turkey, it was not about the food. They set aside a day to say Thank You for surviving with their lives, for help from new friends in a strange land, for having health, food to eat and Thanks to God for the blessings they had received.

I will invite you to Thanksgiving Day, a day we should give, share and be thankful. The turkey is a sideline along with the football and shopping lists for Black Friday. I am thankful for my life, for all of you, for my children and grandchildren. I am thankful for America, my freedom, and those who cared enough to give their lives for my freedom. I am thankful for God’s blessing and provision for me who is totally underserving of such Grace and Blessings.

I am thankful for my clients, those who do work for me, those who share and teach me more I need to know. I am thankful I have water to drink, and a bed to sleep on in a house that is warm. I hope to give food to those who have not, I hope to give a smile and a caring hand to those who hurt, and I hope to be a blessing to others in any way I can.

So with all the ways I have to communicate Thanksgiving, Thank You! You are all appreciated. I wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Google +1 Business Pages

This week Google rolled out the +1 Business Pages. There is a Google +1 badge to install on your website for your business page.

Why should you care? All social media makes a difference to your business. Your target market is attached to Social Media. If your business isn’t connected there, your business is invisible to one of the largest target markets out there, the mobile crowd. This can cost you many customers that are used to finding anything and everything on mobile devices, along with sharing their favorites with friends and family.

Business is all about relationships today. No longer do we tell customers what they want, they tell everyone what they want and expect from any product and service. Listening to your target market on social media will help you to provide better customer service, better products and better services. It will help you develop your business model to stand out from the crowd, be noticed and build that customer base that is awaiting the next best thing from you.

Caring and consistency goes a long way to building your fan base. People are tweeting, sharing on Facebook and telling their circles on Google +1 what they like, who has the best new thing and where to find it. Today you can monitor what is being said about your company. Business owners can interact with their market instantly to correct any misconceptions and build trust with their fan base.

It is an exciting time, don’t be left out! How can I help you today?

It’s About The Customer

It’s always about the customer, no matter what kind of business you are in. There are so many ways that customers can either complement or criticize your customer service with social media and forums everywhere. Do you monitor your business reputation? Do you monitor the business reputation of your competitors? If you Google your company, what shows up?

Since all business is relationship driven, knowing what your customers think and what they are saying can help you to improve your customer service and often your products. Marketing can be tweaked and improved to reach your target market because they are talking and telling each other what they think of products and services on social media every day.

Your business can be a step ahead just by monitoring what people are talking about to each other, what products are they buying, what services do they think are great and those that don’t measure up. Look at the most successful products and services and see how they react to their customers conversations, how they want feed back from customers and their response to the good and the bad comments by their customers. Apple’s new iPhone has been the buzz all month, and continues to be the buzz. This helps you the business owner to know that you need to make sure that your marketing has a mobile platform to reach all these informed consumers. What is the buzz about your company? How are you paying attention and using that information to increase your sales?
