Packing To Move And Social Media

Packing to move and social media

can make you feel out of touch, social media can help you to keep in touch easily.

I have two weeks to get ready to move, a daunting task that you break down into little tasks. So when I take a break I catch up with what is happening in the world and friends thru social media. It really helps to not be out of touch, and I can easily ask for help if I am trying to find something I need. Do you realize how much your target audience depends on social media every day? Can they find you there? Are you searching and finding them with your solutions to the problems they are dealing with?

I called one tree trimmer that has no online presence because my husband wanted three estimates to cut down a tree. Two of the local tree trimmers had websites so I could check out who they are and what kind of work they do, but the other five tree trimmer businesses only have a yellow page listings. Since I needed three estimates when I called the company without any online presence I had no idea about the company or the work they do. In today’s world where there is so much information available to the consumer, it makes you feel a little uneasy when you can’t find out anything about a company you are interested in doing business with.

When I was contacting moving companies, I ran into various levels of information and customer service. The company I chose to do business with had the most easily found information, sent me a follow up email along with my estimate and went over and above to explain their services. As a business owner and marketer, this was quite an experience to see the different levels of information provided by companies I was seeking to possibly do business with.

I am able to share the good customer service with friends through social media, giving testimony to the companies that are providing great services to me at this time. They are easy to find, they have the solutions to my moving problems and concerns and I am excited to have it all fall into place.

This reinforces how important our online presence is. How easy is it for our audience to find us? How easy do we make it to provide answers to their questions? Is our business reputation shared and complemented by them?

When the doctor becomes the patient he sees medicine in a new light. Become the customer of your own business and see it in a new light. It will help you to make improvements that will benefit you current customers and those that are looking for you.

Is Your Marketing Like the Weather?

"Is your marketing like the weather"

Is Your Marketing Like the Weather?

Is your marketing like the weather? This is a screen shot of the weather today in my location. Now stop and think about how every one checks the weather every day. They check the weather before they travel, and what the weather will be like at their destination. They check the weather to see what to wear, do they have to adjust their plans, will travel be delayed? Weather is critical to us in our lives, we all want to know what is the “WEATHER” going to be!

The meteorologists tell the weather over and over all day long every day. They have a huge audience that sometimes is happy with their message and sometimes not very happy with their message. The message matters all the same no matter what, and sometimes the weather trumps all the other news out there. The weather has it’s own channel, so you can know what the weather is at any given location at any time of day!

Imagine if your marketing message was as engaging to your audience as the weather, they constantly would want to know what you have to say that matters to them and their daily lives. It would have to be easily accessible anywhere and anytime. You would be telling the story over and over again, but they would still want to know what it is because it would give them a solution to questions and problems they face each day. They would engage with you and want those solutions. Your marketing message would be very popular and respected by them. They would find huge value in engaging with you. Even if they didn’t always like the message, they would trust you for the end result.

We have a solution for that! How can we help you today? Please leave your comments and share with a friend if you found value here.

A Marketer’s Thank You

This is a marketer’s thank you from me to you.

Gratitude is the best form of marketing

Social media was alive with so many forms of thank you and gratitude. I received many emails with Thank You in the subject line, some were only interested in selling something. Gratitude is critical to life. Think of any day that you were having a rough time and someone shared gratitude with you. That can quickly change a bad day to a good day. Saying Thank You when even the smallest kindness has been done for us elevates the whole relationship with that person. So I want to say a huge Thank You to all of you! I appreciate every one of you that takes time to read even one sentence that I write. I am so thankful for my clients that I have the privilege to work with and change their businesses every day. Thank You to those who have mentored me and invested in my knowledge and success. Marketing should always include Thank You so that the customer knows they are never taken for granted.

This is a high marketing weekend, lots of noise and competition going on out there. Who would you want to be involved with for your holiday shopping? Those that are shouting at you or those that appreciate and have gratitude for you?

This is SHOP LOCAL weekend. I encourage you to take time and visit some of your local businesses and let them get to know you. You will find that they will say Thank You and have gratitude that you took time to find them. You will discover treasures you would never have found, and a different atmosphere of appreciation and gratitude.

My last Thank You is for the families that had empty chairs at their Thanksgiving meal yesterday because their family member is serving in our military. We are grateful to you and say Thank You to all those who serve America and protect our freedom to market, sell, and engage with our target market! You are missed and appreciated!

No More Hostess Twinkies?

No more Hostess Twinkies?

We could recognize these blindfolded!

If your were blindfolded, and someone put one of these in your hand you would be able to tell them what it is. The Brand of Hostess has been around over 80 years! Every child and adult will admit to breaking a diet to have one.Time can take it’s toll on all of us, labor problems, costs, sales, marketing failures and so much more can go wrong to affect your business. Twitter and Facebook along with Instagram and Pinterest have been full of pictures and comments about the Hostess Brand. E-Bay is selling twinkies for untold amounts of money.

Can we the lovers of all things Hostess save them? Can social media make an impact and fight for their survival? The Union is striking, the owners are quitting, but is it over? Has the last breath of Hostess been taken?

Think of all the incredible brands that have disappeared in your life time; cars, chewing gum, candy bars, clothing brands and on and on. Now we have social media and the uprising today has been amazing. So I wouldn’t count our favorite Hostess Brand down and out yet. The public, the target market, the lovers of Twinkies are speaking out everywhere! We want our Twinkies, Cupcake and HoHo’s!

NO this isn’t my usual blog, but I couldn’t resist in joining the call, No More Twinkies? Impossible, absolutely not! Even Jack Hanna of our beloved Columbus Zoo loves his Hostess Twinkies!

We want our Hostess Twinkies and more!

Seven Weeks to Year End

Seven Weeks left

Will the last seven weeks of 2012 be epic?

Are you so busy working that you haven’t realized there are only seven weeks until year end? I actually was shocked to know that we are almost half-way through November. The election was a distraction to say the least, so glad to have all those ads gone. Depending on how you expected the outcome to be, has it derailed you from making sure the last seven weeks of 2012 are epic?

Yes, you should have had your year end push in place and executing to your audience. In the world we live in today, change is coming so fast that we need to be constantly adjusting. The biggies term I have heard this week post election is “fiscal cliff”. Another business journal is advising to be sure before you buy gift cards because that particular business could be “out of business” after the holidays. How’s that for causing uncertainty in the marketplace? So maybe we need to make sure that we are reassuring our clients and target market that we will continue to provide incredible customer service, products and more for them. We have a solid foundation of future plans to continue to serve them and welcome their faith in us. When you consider how social media has changed how we communicate, we can continually share the positive to combat the negative that our audience is hearing.

Facebook, Google+1, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn provide many platforms to combat the negative with our positive messages to our clients and target market. We give them something to look forward too, a solution for their problems and needs along with reassurance of continued relationships with us. This is a great opportunity to provide solutions for their fears, worry’s and concerns. They will know that we will work with them to move forward no matter what we hear to the contrary! Listen to your clients and audience and give them back a epic seven weeks for the rest of 2012!

Hurricane Sandy and Friends

How you know who your friends are.

My heart was breaking for all my friends and family as I watched the unfolding of the devastation of hurricane Sandy. So many prayers went up for everyone and prayers will continue for them. It only takes a second to change a life, and in seconds lives and businesses were changed forever. These are the kind of things that try our very well being, challenging everything as we know it. I really appreciated Twitter and Facebook, because I could keep in touch with friends who were in harms way and know they were ok. One friend had come to Ohio to take care of some business and couldn’t get back to her family in N.J. She was able to stay in contact thru social media and texting. Videos, images and posts kept us all up to date on real time events that they were all facing. We were able to encourage, cry and celebrate safety and more thru social media through the entire disaster. It will take weeks and months for life to return to somewhat normal, and some things will never return to normal. Those who had their homes and businesses totally destroyed, they can be replaced and the memories will linger, but life will never be the same.

I hope and pray that in many cases it will be better. That there will be a new perspective for their future. When you go through such trials you find out who your friends are. They do the unexpected for you, they offer assistance when you most need it. Some weren’t even your friends before, but will they be forever after. The young girl who set up a charging station in her front yard because they had power and she wanted others to be able to charge and connect their digital devices who had no power, she will do amazing things in her future. She collected a small fee to donate to the relief efforts in her town.

With Thanksgiving coming, being thankful and grateful for life, freedom, and the love of friends and family are what matter. Those who just went through the devastation of hurricane Sandy know that all too well. We send our dollars, our prayers and our love to all of you!

Zoo Animals and Algorithms

Zoo animals and algorithms were not associated in the same sentences over two years ago.

Zoo animals and algorithms

Now there are totally different reasons we talk about Pandas and Penguins, and it isn’t usually because we saw them at the zoo. Pandas and Penguins now have everything to do with content and your web presence. If you have engaged in “black hat” marketing which would include the use of bad links, no original content and the lack of organic links, you might have found yourself slapped down by Google. Do you have a blog that you communicate great information to your target market? Do you have videos that share and engage your products and services as a great solution for their problem? Is your social media linked to your website along with your LinkedIn account? Are you socializing and interacting with your audience? So many questions and so little time.

Everything that you think you used to know about marketing and your web presence is in a state of constant change. Here you are busy trying to run your business and you wonder how am I supposed to keep up with all these changes? How do I keep from wasting money on marketing that is changing weekly and monthly? There are some basic rules that will help you. Everything you learned in Kindergarten now applies. Be nice to your neighbor, be considerate and tell the truth. Listen to you neighbor, you don’t have to talk all the time. The most important rules for your web presence is share your story and what it is that you do best that matters to your target audience. Share valuable information that will help your target market solve their problem, and that you care and have that solution. Be available and easily accessible to your market. The easier it is for them to contact you, interact with you and get your solution to their problem, the better!

So no matter what the next animal algorithm is, good manners, caring, sharing and killer service will win every time. I appreciate all of you, let me know how I can do better!

Your Marketing Audience

Has your marketing audience changed? Has your message to your target audience changed too?

Has your audience changed? Has your message to your target market changed too?

Sometimes we want to think “If it isn’t broke, don’t change it”. Today everything is changing. Whether we want to keep up or not, if we aren’t aware of the changes affecting our target market that can hurt our message to them. The more information that we know about our target audience the better we can reach them. What problems are they affected by every day that we can resolve for them? How have they changed their communication? What are they doing differently that would help you to reach them in another way to bring better results?

The changes are happening so quickly, what we were doing six months ago now need to be adjusted or revamped. Social media platforms are changing constantly with better options for business owners. Facebook is a powerful way to reach your audience as they spend a lot of time there engaging every day. Google+1 give you the opportunity to have free video chats with your audience. Twitter allows you to engage thru search your audience by location. LinkedIn will grow your professional exposure. All these social media platforms give you mobile exposure along with mobile conversions in websites, and mobile apps for your business.

Maybe it is time to examine your audience, the changes they have made and adjust your message so that it will be easy for them to connect to you. The easier you make it for your audience to engage with you, the more they will!

Comfort Zones and Marketing

Comfort zones, we all have them. A comfort zone can actually keep your marketing from having that aha moment for your clients.

Does your comfort zone keep your business a secret?

Does your comfort zone keep your business a secret? Every day we are bombarded with marketing pitches everywhere we go. If you think about the different marketing you are exposed to, what makes you react? What catches your interest and causes you to want to respond? If you are in a comfort zone with your marketing, you might want to re-think that maybe it is time to change things up. With so much competition today on so many platforms of social media, mobile apps, direct mail and more, you want to stand our from the crowd. You want to impact your market so that they have a reaction whether negative or positive to stop and pay attention. Ask yourself, what makes me better? What makes my product or services different? What is it that set’s me apart from my competition? Do you have humor, fun and excitement in your marketing? Is it your style to shock, stun and make a unusual statement?

Why not try to change up your comfort zone in your marketing and see the rapid change for your business when you stand out from the crowd and your competition!
